Rebecca Rutstein: 2025 Earth Week Keynote Speaker
Multidisciplinary and environmentally-focused artist Rebecca Rutstein works at the intersection of art and science. Rutstein is passionate about creating visual and immersive experiences that illuminate hidden systems in the natural world to foster deeper connection and environmental stewardship in the face of our climate crisis. She shares the evolution of her practice including partnerships with oceanographers, ecologists, microbiologists, molecular scientists and planetary geologists who shape her unique perspective and broad view on the interconnectedness of nature. As an artist who has participated on eight research expeditions at sea and three deep sea dives in the Navy-owned Alvin submersible, Rutstein delves into these experiences and address the value of interdisciplinary collaboration to solve global challenges.
