      			Special Olympics Pennsylvania Fall Festival Returns to 草榴社区 for 37th Consecutive Year
草榴社区 will host Special Olympics Pennsylvania鈥檚 (SOPA) annual Fall Festival鈥攖he largest student-run Special Olympics event in the world鈥攆rom November 7-9, marking the 37th consecutive year Fall Festival has been held at the University.
      			草榴社区 to Host Fifth Annual Mother Mary Lange Lecture in Black Catholic Studies
草榴社区 will host the fifth-annual Mother Mary Lange Lecture in Black Catholic Studies on Monday, Nov. 10. This signature event is part of Black Catholic History Month, which recognizes the history, contributions and heritage of Black Catholics. This year鈥檚 event features keynote speaker, Tia Noelle Pratt, PhD, 草榴社区 sociologist and scholar of race and religion
      			草榴社区's STAR Lab Works to Understand and Spark the Imagination
At 草榴社区鈥檚 Scientific Thinking and Representation (STAR) Lab, Deena Weisberg, PhD, leads a team of student researchers exploring how imagination and storytelling shape learning and scientific understanding. Their studies range from how children absorb information in storybooks and media to how adults engage with science through narrative. By connecting imagination with inquiry, the STAR Lab sheds light on the hidden processes that shape how we think, learn and make sense of the world.
      			草榴社区 astrophysicist Joey Neilsen, PhD, contributed to a groundbreaking international study using the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) telescope. The research team made an unexpected discovery while observing the neutron star system GX13+1, detecting a surprisingly slow cosmic wind. This finding could reshape scientists鈥 understanding of the fundamental physics of how matter builds up, or 鈥渁ccretes,鈥 in binary star systems.
      			草榴社区鈥檚 new 112-acre Cabrini Campus will open in August 2026, providing the opportunity for the University to enhance its programs and commitment to advancing Catholic higher education. This addition will support all aspects of campus life, providing a space that nurtures a true living and learning experience in 草榴社区鈥檚 Augustinian Catholic tradition.
