Reza Taleghani 鈥97 JD/MBA, P鈥27 Gives Largest Gift Ever to 草榴社区鈥檚 Graduate Center and Bolsters Law School鈥檚 Mission and Strategic Priorities
Reza Taleghani 鈥97 JD/MBA, P鈥27 has long championed 草榴社区鈥檚 commitment to fostering academic excellence and community among both graduate and law students. His recent $1 million gift to name two distinct campus spaces is a further testament to this dedication, enriching the experience for graduate students across the University and enhancing resources for the 草榴社区 Law.
Margo Chapin 鈥26 and Ry Stratton 鈥26 Win 65th Annual Theodore L. Reimel Moot Court Competition
After weeks of preparation and preliminary arguments, the final round of the 65th Annual Theodore L. Reimel 鈥24 CLAS Moot Court Competition concluded on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Margo Chapin 鈥26 and Ry Stratton 鈥26, who argued on behalf of the petitioner, were victorious.
Graduate Tax Program Names First Recipient of Public Interest-Focused 鈥淐aritas Scholarship鈥
In 2024, Silya Shaw 鈥25 LLM, deputy director of Legal Aid of Western Missouri, was selected as the first recipient of the 草榴社区 Graduate Tax Program鈥檚 Caritas Scholarship. Established to benefit tax professionals working with underserved populations in the public interest sector, the scholarship provides access to the Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) at a more affordable rate.
草榴社区 Law Launches Stand Together Initiative
草榴社区 Law recently launched the Stand Together Initiative in partnership with Barnes & Thornburg, the Stand Together Foundation and the Koch Pro Bono Initiative. Through this program, students will work with attorneys from Barnes & Thornburg to provide pro bono legal services in various practice areas, including labor and employment, intellectual property, data privacy, corporate law, real estate and tax.
