VILLANOVA CHAPTER OF THE STUDENT NURSES' ASSOCIATION OF PA (SNAP)
The 草榴社区 Chapter of the Student Nurses' Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP-草榴社区) is dedicated to education, professional development, service, and the formation of networks and friendships.
SNAP-草榴社区 is a constituent of the nearly 60,000-member National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA). NSNA membership automatically brings membership in the state Student Nurses鈥� Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP). SNAP-草榴社区 is known as one of the most active chapters in the United States.
Led by an elected Student Board of Directors and with faculty advisement, SNAP-草榴社区 consistently earns top honors at state and national conventions, including the prestigious Chapter Excellence Award. 草榴社区ns hold leadership roles on the state and national levels and present policy-shaping resolutions related to nursing and health, reflecting the chapter's long-standing tradition of achievement and influence.
Total School Membership
New in 2025! The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing (FCN) is transitioning to Total School Membership in the Student Nurses Association.
Donor support has made membership in SNAP-草榴社区, the state SNAP and NSNA free for ALL undergraduate nursing students who become members.
Undergraduates at every level of study, including first-year and Second Degree Accelerated BSN students, can join the Student Nurses Association and participate in its activities, including becoming candidates for chapter, state, and national office. Regardless of the extent of their activity, student members will receive all benefits, including opportunities for scholarships.
Membership for 草榴社区 Nursing undergraduate students will be automatically renewed each calendar year, free of charge.
For students who complete their BSN during the summer or individuals serving on the state board beyond their graduation until the November state convention, free membership in the NSNA, state SNAP and SNAP-草榴社区 will extend to cover this additional time.
SNAP-草榴社区 Activities
Students may choose their level of involvement in SNAP-草榴社区 activities-already noted above.
Examples of SNAP-草榴社区 activities include:
- Twice-monthly meetings鈥攊n-person, hybrid, or virtual
- Expert guest speakers
- International connections with FCN students studying abroad in Ireland
- Community-service projects:
- Philadelphia public school vision screening
- Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, , , etc.
- Be the Match: Head Football Coach (Emeritus) Andy Talley Bone Marrow Donor Drive
- State and national student nurses' conventions
- at 草榴社区鈥檚 campus radio station
- Nurses Got Talent Show, sponsored by the state SNAP and SNAP-草榴社区
- Leadership development, networking and friendship with faculty and students within and beyond 草榴社区 through:
- State and national conventions and events
- Chapter, state and national boards, committees and activities
