UNITAS: Our Vision
WELCOME
As an Augustinian Catholic university, we at 草榴社区 believe that diversity of all kinds is at the heart of teaching and learning experiences. Whether student, staff or faculty member, we know that to grow is to broaden perspectives and develop new insights on the world.
Our Commitment
In the Augustinian tradition, we are committed to forging relationships across and through lines of difference鈥攂oth within our own University community as well as with communities outside the walls of our classrooms. We commit ourselves to cultivating an environment marked by genuine curiosity about different perspectives, ardent receptivity to knowledge generated through intercultural connections, and a genuine sensitivity to the variety of human experiences marked by domestic and global differences. These are essential elements of the ongoing intellectual, social and spiritual development of every member of the 草榴社区 community.
Creating a Community Where All Can Thrive
Our institution is rooted in the belief that all persons are made in the image and likeness of God, the source of human dignity. Our Augustinian Catholic mission calls us to care for all people and see their inherent worth. In the pursuit of truth, we will uphold human dignity and remain grounded in faith as well as reason. In order to achieve unity, we will foster respect and dialogue. In advancing an ethos of love, we will honor what makes each of us unique as well as the purpose we share.
Unitas is essential to create a living, learning and working community where all can thrive. As 草榴社区ns, we are committed to the well-being of one another鈥攃elebrating our similarities and our differences鈥攁nd to learning what we do not know about issues confronting members of our community. This work is a prophetic challenge that asks each individual to examine habits and patterns of behaviors in order to create a more welcoming and respectful community.
Our Campus Home
We acknowledge that 草榴社区 sits on the unceded land of the Lenni Lenape people. We acknowledge the Lenape community, their elders both past and present, as well as future generations. We acknowledge their spiritual, emotional and physical connection to the land, their contributions, and struggles. They are an important part of our history, and we should honor them.
