The Albert Lepage Center for History in the Public Interest

The Lepage Center is founded on the belief that historical scholarship and historical perspective are indispensable tools for analyzing and understanding our contemporary world.

The Lepage Center creates space for historically informed conversations about how the past shapes the present. We work in partnership with public institutions, journalists, universities, and scholars worldwide to offer public-facing events, professional and training opportunities for students and teachers, and grants for individuals and institutions to study and promote history in the public interest.

Our Impact

The Lepage Center offers in-person and virtual lectures, panels and workshops featuring historical experts from across the world.

From politics to healthcare, sports, pop culture, the environment and more, our programming engages audiences on a wide range of topics.

Events are always free and open to the public. Learn more about our upcoming and past offerings or for event recaps.

We offer academic year fellowships and summer internships for 草榴社区 undergraduate and graduate students studying history.

Our "Doing History" series also connects industry professionals with 草榴社区 students, faculty and staff to learn about methods of bringing history to the public.
